Small Business Gift Guide
Having friends who own small businesses and dreaming up my own brand one day, means small businesses have really been on my heart and mind lately! It’s been a hard year on all of us, and it’s heartbreaking to see restaurants and small businesses closing.
Shopping small can be a little more expensive and a little slower. I get it. Convenience is king these days!
But when we shop small, the owner and staff celebrate.
Every purchase we make from a small business impacts whether they get to keep their doors open. Whether they get to create the next product they’ve been dreaming up. Whether they can purchase new inventory. Whether they can continue to pay their employees. And live out their dreams.
Yes, I’ve become so passionate about this! Our buying power is one of the most impactful things we have in this country! So while I still shop at H&M and Zara and Nordstrom from time-to-time, I’m making conscious efforts to use my buying power for good, whenever I can.
So, without further ado, here are some small businesses I love and some gift ideas from each!
Darcy Apparel
Darcy Apparel is one of my ride-or-die favorite small businesses, and Darcy is one of the best people you’ll ever meet! They curate beautiful clothing and accessories, including lots of lovely small brands and sustainable brands. I’m gifting a couple of these beautiful Machete claw clips, and also love this jumpsuit and these reusable shopping bags (a great stocking stuffer).
Wilde House Paper
I recently discovered this beautiful stationary brand and absolutely fell in love. All of their paper is recycled, and a tree is planted for every order. Between their planners, notebooks, stationary, art prints and more, my wish list is quite long at this point. A few things that I think would make for lovely gifts are this planner, this notebook, this art print, and this stationary set.
Roen Candles
These are one of my top two favorite candles! They have a long burn time, smell heavenly, and the packaging is so very chic. It’s a female-owned brand and the candles are made in small batches and inspired by LA neighborhoods! So far I’ve tried Le ‘Bu and Ojai Nuit and I couldn’t love them more.
Lilah Lifestyle Co.
Lilah Lifestyle Co. has become one of my favorite home decor shops! Their items are so chic and reasonably priced and the owner is so kind. I believe they have some new arrivals and restocks coming soon, but a few favorite gift ideas are this incense holder, this mug, this marble dish, and this vase.

Aurelie Gi
Aurelie Gi is where nearly all of my 14k gold jewelry is from! I love how delicate and high quality their jewelry is, and because it’s 14k gold, it will last forever without having to take it off. A few sweet gift ideas are these customizable necklaces, this ear cuff, and these delicate stacking rings. Use code JACY20 for 20% off your order.
Maude Boutique
I’ve been shopping at Maude for years, and it remains one of my favorite boutiques! They have so many cute clothes and gifts. I love this pullover + jogger set, all of these cute gift ideas, and so much of this jewelry!

Convivial / Shop Verdant
Convivial is the most amazing ceramics brand in Kansas City. My friend Claire and I got to tour their studio a couple of years ago and I’ve been a huge fan ever since! I love all of the items I have around our home and love seeing all of their behind-the-scenes on Instagram! Shop Verdant is their new retail store in Kansas City selling pots, vases, candles and beautiful plants! If you’re ever in KC, definitely check it out. A lot of their pieces are sold out at the moment, but definitely check out both sites! I have this planter, love their candles (my other favorites), and have had my eye on this special mug.
One Wednesday Shop
My Instagram friend Sophie co-founded One Wednesday Shop! Their universal throws can be a throw blanket, shawl, baby blanket and more (and it’s machine washable)! They are coming out with new goodies soon, including amazing waffle robes, so this is a shop to watch!
Bookshop.org
As I strive to shop on Amazon less, I’ve been purchasing some of my books through Bookshop.org, which supports small bookshops across the US! I usually choose to shop through Harriett’s Bookshop (a Black, female-owned bookstore) specifically, but your purchase can also be divided between all of their partnering shops. Shipping is a little slower and more expensive than Amazon, but if you love to gift books, this is worth checking out!
Maya Champion
I discovered Maya’s beautiful ceramics on Instagram and they would make for such a unique gift! A couple of my favorites are the lady incense holder and this catchall dish.
Bess & Color
These non-toxic nail polishes are some of my very favorites, and they are so long-lasting!

XO Hanalei
I love XO Hanalei’s gold-filled jewelry because it can withstand water, but is more affordable than 14k gold. I have had many of their pieces for years, and they still look beautiful! I never take this bracelet off, wear these small hoops often, and I think these pearl hoops would be a stunning gift. You can use code JACYLENORE for 15% off!

for the guys (or anyone)…
the golfer’s journal
Trey recommended this for guys who love golf! It’s a quarterly print publication that also comes with a digital subscription, a twice-per-year $50 credit to Linksoul (super cool golf apparel brand), and exclusive access to golf events and some amazing courses each year. He loves it!
City Supply
My friend Jo told me about City Supply because it has tons of cool gifts, including lots of great stuff for guys from cocktail mixes to grilling stuff and more.
big blanket co.
Trey is obsessed with Big Blanket Co. because they are super oversized blankets that work even for tall guys or fit the whole family! They look so comfy and amazing! They are based out of my hometown too :)
